Well, Mexico city was originally built on top of a HUGE lake and it is actually sinking. Not the whole city of course, only downtown because that's where the city was originally built.

Tenochtitlán you mean, in the early-mid 1500's. Sax, you should at least make one about Greece. Greece has so much islands when my grandparents lived there they lived on a beach with millions of islands around them. Greece has about 400 threatened to sink islands out of the 1,200 total islands, which only about 200 are inhabited.

That was originally the valley of Mexico. Now it is downtown Mexico.

Well it seems like today all of Greece's northern neighbors (and Turkey) have been pushing on them. It's always conflict and they go for Greece. The groups:
Macedonians: They copied our name, Makedonia, a northern region in Greece. They also say Alexander the Great is 100% some Slavic. Alexander the Great was a mix of Greek and Yugoslavian groups.

Albanians: They have been invading Greece's northwestern area. They have set up villages with Albanian names and even spread out into neighborhoods of Greek towns. They are taking over, that's  what it feels! Also, their music is being played within northern Greece, stopping the Greek traditional music from being national.

Bulgarians: Immigrating A LOT to Greece. Along with the Macedonians, they also say Alexander the Great was fully Slavic. They also are concentrated heavily in the region of Thares, and a little more migrating to Salonica (the 3 peninsulas).

Turks: We have been in conflict at them for many years. Since the Bynatize period/empire. They are spreading Islam (not to discriminate for religion) to Greece and want us to convert to Islam. Also, if they have ever came in contact with a Greek, most likely they will fight.

This is it ako. The sources I got from were my memory of my trip to Greece and what my grandma and dad had told me about Greece. PS you will not understand some of this, if you're more Eastern European you will completely get what I'm trying to tell about the conflict, as they know also and maybe more than me why we hate eachother.

Man, if immigration, bad music, and silly claims of the ethnicity of an ancient figure are the problems, someone needs to look up http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multiculturalism and then slap themselves. I know the problems are more complex than that, but I think it is very telling that you proudly announce you HATE those people on the advice of your parents and grandparents. It is likely a perfect example of why these hate-fests continue into 2013.

I've watched documentaries on the former Yugoslavia, and the hate mongers generally hate the other people just because. They never seem to be able to give good solid reasons, instead just a vague long-term sense of hate, likely passed down through generations. Kindof sad...

You're young, and at some point you should form your own views. Consider what it means to hate, and why you hate several groups of people. Maybe you don't hate them, and you've just been told to. I'll remind you that the religion you say you belong to is supposed to strongly advise against hate (I know it does the complete opposite constantly, but you know), it's often called the Golden Rule. Think and ask questions, and do it a lot.

And lastly:
You hate Macedonians? Have you ever wondered why they might not be too happy with Greeks?
Greece committed... oh, you know, genocide against the Macedonians in the early 1900s.
Ain't nothin' like some good old ethnic cleansing. And then covering up and destroying the history, constantly denying that it ever happened, and then telling your kids and grandkids to hate the Macedonians cause they uh... "copied our name"... fuck.

Not because of religion. Also, there has been conflict in the past with Greece and the Slavic countries. Most of Eastern Europe is all some type of Eastern Orthodox. Also, I get your points on the laws for all the countries, but there was conflict before, even overseas. I do not hate the groups, I didn't mean to say that. But yeah, Greece itself does hate Turkey, Albania, Bulgaria, and Macedonia. I have a best friend and she's Bulgarian. I don't hate her at all, we have never fought over the laws for our countries, and have been best friends for as long as I can remember. I have nothing against Albania, Macedonia, or Turkey. They are all fine countries as my dad has traveled to Istanbul for business before and said there was no conflict to him even though he is Greek. I don't have xenophobia, I've dealed with a exchange student from South Korea and we got along fine, I wasn't scared of her and she's learned English. I'm not trying to be racist, but the native countries all hate eachother and I'm the one trying to get along with the other groups. And the rest of Yugoslavia, well they don't really care about this conflict. But yet, you have told me to appreciate people and countries, because someday there could be a uprising and the country government would be overthrown. I am against war and hate, honestly, and I need to look at the pros and cons of the 5 countries and compare them before I judge. Thanks
