Just curious how many musicians there are here in the VC community. Do you play anything? Learning something? Any musicians you look up to? Feel free to post about your favourite instrument(s), music styles, bands etc...
To break the ice I've been a drummer and pianist for a few years now, currently trying to pickup the guitar and alto saxophone. Also tinkering around with remixing through Magix and trying to learn the basics of music composition.

I play the piano. I also like to remix songs and upload them to Itunes for a quick buck :D

I play guitar and piano kinda.

I play piano, clarinet, saxophone, organ, and I also sing; as well as some composition of a classical/contemporary atonal nature.

I assume whistling doesn't count. I have be complimented by strangers about my whistling....
But I use to play the trumpet. I dropped it because i found it to be pretty easy... wasn't worth my time.

I used to have an ocarina but then some blond girl stole it.

I sing, just not very well :P Oh, and my voice sounds better in the car and in the shower for some odd reason.

A combination of proper resonance in the shower and increased sound-dapening cushioning in the car. You can't hear yourself properly in either situation.

I am a beginner Pianist, with a background in guitar.
I am taking Piano for school this year.
I haven't played guitar in 2+years

i play the most difficult instrument IMHO.
its called the mixer.
i set up sound systems, and make mixes for studios, and live gigs.
imagine setting up for a gig in some random park with weird trees, hills, and structures making unusual echoes. my job is to make it sound good...
i also played violin for a while, but never got more then slightly decent on it.

I am familiar with that, although in a much more controlled context - I help set up the sound recording and playback systems in various concert halls, churches, gyms, and cafeteria halls in this area, lol. I don't envy your job though. XD
