Hello, you were banned a couple times in 2016 for griefing, yeah. It's been over 6 years and I'd be okay with unbanning you. I'll wait for any other staff who'd like to chime in.I agree with this
alright listen i think this shit is dumb af but i dont wanna get bitched at cus bitches trippin, so i typed up things that i assumed people get offended about lolQuote2. Any hateful speech that is directly targeted at specific religions, will not be tolerated.
So I was re-reading The Spirit of the Laws by Montesquieu, which the American government is very much based upon, and he does not directly endorse that an executive should be elected; even going as far as saying that liberty can be achieved under a monarchy.lol. the american people know sanders is definitely not what's best for them. that's a good thing. sanders was a terrible candidate, better than biden, but still terrible. they don't necessarily have direct control over the president, we have the electoral college bruh. the reason the us wasn't made a monarchy is because it was founded under the principle of freedom and democracy after their natural rights were stepped on by the british, so why would they want another monarchy? also your whole "people can't decide what's best for them" is what Stalin, Hitler, Pol Pot, and many other dictators said as well so...yeah
Seeing the recent loss of Sanders in the primary, the american people clearly do not know what is best for them. So, why do they have direct control over the president? An ideal system may be to have a hereditary monarchy in which the judicial and legislative branch retain their function and power. Including the ability to impeach the executive, given a significant majority, and except for enacting short term limits on the legislative branch. The only problem I can see with this is the pretty direct control the executive would have over the judicial branch, which could be mitigated by having judges appointed by the senate, or be directly elected.
Thoughts?
I want my fucking coke back

so you can't break a single piece of redstone or block off a path to prevent it from running if 10+ people are online?I'm not "severing" my red stone, because I'm not even the one who does it. and no, guardian farms don't really have a way to disable. you can disable the collection. have fun with all the mobs and items sitting on the floor though.Does your farm have an "off" functionality built into it?if it doesn't have an off functionality just disable it by severing the red stone connection where it can be easily replaced when you wanna use it

I have to agree with your thinking here, Ako1. Election Request
i. If a CM has been serving for less than 2 months, an election will be triggered when:
- 5 players who are MPs request a new election, and;
- 1 Staff member requests a new election.
ii. If a CM has been serving for 2 months or more, an election will be triggered when:
- 3 players who are MPs request a new election. This can be done anonymously (method pending).
iii. Election requests during the first 2 months of a term expire once the first 2 months of the term is reached. Each further request expires after 1 month.
Can I ask why, in the first two months, a staff request is required for a new election? The number could be upped to six if that's the issue but given that the CM works for the players as a whole I see no reason for this stipulation, unless there's a reason I'm missing
My thinking was to avoid troll requests for election, so at least within the first 2 months it would need a staff member to agree. Do you think it should be changed?
third this, but agree with what ako and luis are saying - we need more defined guidelines for this.Nobody is regulating for the sake of regulation. Respectfully, you haven't played enough to experience the nearly unplayable lag spikes during peak times lately, and the widespread frustration that led to this long, painful discussion and now to this.
Completely in favour of this rule as is written in the OP, but with the stipulation of a review upon update to 1.16
I second this
huh, did not know dis. disregardi was with you up until the whole monetary thing. why should cm's, or cm helpers, get paid?
They always have, CM get 250k at the end of their term
Soo, given this was once Plugin info: Mob Catcher | CraftArrows | DrugMeUp I'm gonna boost the Mob Catcher discussion in Parliament.lets get em
http://www.villagecraft-server.com/forum/index.php?topic=5004.msg46584#new
However, I'm also gonna boost the new DrugMeUp - which an unnameable suggested, but it actually got a fair amount of likes, just no real discussion. I'd support bringing it back as well.

And also, wouldn't you believe it, CraftArrows is back as well!

Thats partially true, but its about how the server is assessed by new players, if we have "Crates" then it might turn people off from playing due to the perception of a highly specialized and hard to grasp game play. It just seems like an unnecessary addition with difficult coding for a novelty.this is a good point, i do somewhat agree with this point. but at the same time, I don't think it's that deep son
Hey, so I know many people have mentioned this before, but encase there isn't an actual thread for this, I have decided to make one (if there already is a thread please feel free to ignore this).why you want it adjusted so bad? i think its fine how it is mate
As staff have recently added the option to sell terracotta in the /warp m, I am curious as to when the revaluation of terracotta will take place. At the moment to buy on block of white terracotta is $36.63, but to sell a block it is only $5.48.
I know at the moment staff have been made very much aware of this issue, and I know that due to upcoming updates, some members of staff are very busy behind the scenes (of which we all thank you). I'm just writing this thread for reassurance that the price of all terracotta is revaluated at some point in the very near future (especially as we aim to increase the number of players on the server, it may be best to fix little issues like this which shouldn't take much time at all to do).
Just want to end on the fact that I and many other players are thankful that we can sell terracotta now at /warp m, and look forward to the pricing of terracotta reducing.
this, i agree with everything cyphur said minus what luis contested so like kinda +1- snip -Thanks for the feedback, I'll see what I can do4: You can also buy high crate keys using IRL money.Firstly, considering you could class this as a purchase rather than a donation, I'm pretty sure this is against Mojang's EULA. Putting that aside though, I'm personally not all that keen on adding rewards that you can buy with IRL money. You say it's not "pay-to-win", but you're paying money to win a reward. Considering you wouldn't know what the reward itself is until after you've paid, some would call it gambling, but I'm not going to get into that. To me, that is very much a pay-to-win system, and would be in effect microtransactions which most people find annoying in other games.
I think adopting a system similar to this would be an interesting idea, and could help bring additional revenue to the server. As for making the server "pay to win", I would like to make a few points.
Firstly: What, exactly, is the win condition for minecraft? how do you win at villagecraft?
Secondly: Not all forms of monetization are pay to win. There are a few notable examples in certain games, but a well crafted system can avoid pay to win. One possibility: make high crate rewards not affect pvp, meaning no Prot V armor/Sharp VI swords or what not. I think if one is careful in putting together a system, it can be decidedly not pay-to-win.
I'm all in favour of adding rewards for voting, I think that's a great idea. I wouldn't be against adding in a reward as an additional donor perk to each of our ranks. It could also be a good idea to have the rewards used for other things too, like VcGames prizes, building comp prizes, etc. However, I don't think offering rewards in exchange for money would be setting the right tone for the server. Yes, we do rely on donations to keep the server running, but letting people buy what are essentially lottery tickets personally doesn't feel right to me.
As someone who maintains more than one farm in the nether, I feel that I should at least have some input here. As of right now, I have 3 things I have built that I would prefer survive a nether reset, also I have punched a rather large hole in the nether ceiling using the 1.12 dragon egg trick that I quite like and would prefer to keep, whether this means having a staffer just WE in a new hole or something can be addressed later.@luisc99 what do you think about the proposed 'compromise'? is it viable?
I am entirely open to working with staff to help ensure my constructions remain unharmed should the nether be reset. The three structures that I would much like to keep around are as follows:
1: My nether fortress farm, as well as the 128 block radius area around said farm that I mob proofed (this took weeks)
2: a small construction that fits perfectly in 1 chunk, that if deleted may result in accidentally crashing the server
3: The Eldrin Blaze farm, while not mine, I think is really nice, as such, I would much enjoy if this farm is preserved as well.
Given that the 1.16 update makes the nether a more varied place, where building an interesting village is viable, I am fully in favor of a reset, on the contingency that I can get assistance in preserving some of my (and others') hard work.
Pro. There's very little content in the Nether and without trying to be rude, I think the benefits of a reset nether would greatly outweigh the negatives of a few lost blaze farms.have 2 or 3 villages in the nether and i am very pro reset
you could just message a staff member to apply instead, or just post an application in the VC chat to apply. Why are you against just adding a parliament discussion channel? None of the other ones are really geared toward thatby changing the application to messaging a staff member that makes acceptance subjective. it would also mean other staff couldn't see this, and it would mean we would have to find some way to record the information (it is currently on a big ole thread). an application in the vc chat raises similar issues (everything minus the subjective thing).
I think you guys missed that not everyone would be able to talk in the parliament channel if we made it, it would still only be players who applied to parliament.remember, i love you, k? but to apply to parliament you have to have a forum account...lmao. so then the only thing preventing you from voting on the forums is 4 clicks. applying to parliament on the forums just to do everything parliament related on the discord? seems kinda pointless imo. unless you suggest a process of applying via discord, which I don't foresee being all that easy to log and keep track of.
And in the case that this doesn't pass, I do believe that there should be a channel dedicated toward parliament discussion and an announcements channel tooi also disagree with adding a parliament channel, however, we can cross that bridge when we come to it
The benefit is plenty of people don't use the forums - many many more people are on the Discord. It wouldn't be difficult at all to implement voting on the Discord through official votes using reacts, using a bot as Theo suggested, or through other messages. Additionally I believe a Discord chat would provide a lot more discussion than the Forums, due to the advantage of instant messaging, as well as my next point.did you mean older players bb? also i do agree with yvette's second point, lots of newer player who are fairly active don't vote or participate in parliament on the forums but they do use discord.
As of right now, the Forum is, in many ways, exclusive to newer players - Many of the new players don't come to the Forums because, quite frankly, Forums are for boomers. Many votes are missed by players because there is no effective way to notify them, and oftentimes it's forgotten to add them onto the Server.
There wasn't a discussion thread, so I'm going to share my thought on this here. At first thoughts, I'm against this idea, mainly because I don't really see the benefit of it. What would we gain by moving everything to Discord? As it is on the forums, there's a permanent record of every vote, and it can be easy to find each vote in the past along with its discussion thread(s). I feel like this aspect of Parliament would be lost of it switched to Discord. Furthermore, how would voting work? Oh here we've got a well-established method of voting, using the polls in SMF it makes it voting clear, and we can ensure there's no funny business going on with them, whereas as far as I'm aware, Discord doesn't have a poll/vote feature, so I'm not sure how that would work. If it's richer votes we're after, I've made an add-on to the forums that provides votes with alternative voting methods, and more visual results, which I've been trying to test for a while. Overall though, I don't see what benefit switching would have.I have to agree with Luis, the voting system you described could be abused or messed with by people, and keeping track of everything parliament does in a chat rather than neatly organized threads would be chaos. Plus, look at the current groups in discord. They are all spammed with random shit. Sure, you can say it's against the rules in this new parliament chat but are we just going to revoke parliament memberships for that? How do we resolve that? I personally have never seen someone lose their status as a member or parliament, would we have to start? If someone wants to address these points I might change my mind, but I don't see these being plausible given discord's interface.
As a side note, it's usually a good idea to have a discussion thread open for at least a few days before a vote, to let people discuss the idea and form an opinion before being asked to vote on something. I see at the moment 5 people are in favour of it and 1 against it, but I've not seen any comments about this saying why they voted as they did.
