I don't think there's a way to hide text on the forums. I could do it with CSS, but I can't really be bothered. And it's a bit iffy.

But basically, if a = b, then (a-b) = 0. You're dividing by (a-b) in step 4, which means you're dividing by 0. That doesn't work, so the proof doesn't work.

Similarly, by taking a factor of (a-b), you're basically multiplying both sides by 0. So your step 3, which is (a+b)*(a-b) = b*(a-b) basically reads (a+b)*0 = b*0, which is essentially proving 0 = 0. Even if the whole divide by zero thing didn't matter, the proof falls apart at this step too.

 Dividing by zero is probably the one mathematics rule people won't try to break/work around. In fact, if you allow dividing by zero, you can easily prove that 1 = 0 (just subtract 1 from 2 = 1), which can then be used to prove that z = 0 for all complex numbers z (Complex numbers are numbers of the form x + yi where i = the square root of -1). This can be expanded even further to make the claim that everything in this universe must equal zero, thereby proving that nothing at all exists in the material world. In other words, don't divide by zero.

Try to find the mistake in the following set of equations which proves 2=1 using simple algebra:
Suppose you have two equal numbers (a and b). Then we can write:

a = b
(Multiply both sides by a)
a^2 = ab
(Subtract b^2 from both sides)
a^2 - b^2 = ab - b^2
(Factor both sides)
(a+b)*(a-b) = b*(a-b)
(Divide both sides by (a-b))
a+b = b
(Since a = b, substitute b in for a )
b+b = b
(Simplify)
2b = b
(Divide both sides by b)
2 = 1.

(BTW: a^2 is "a squared" or a*a)

Co-ordinates: ~ -1250, 64, 850 (includes everything from beach to across the river where the farm is)

Village meets protection requirements (yes or no+why): Yes (has five+ buildings, asked Shensley he said it looked fine)
Description and/or screenshot: (going from north end to south end) First there are two beach homes, with access to private beach areas (fenced off). Then, following the path/road, you reach a large apartment/office tower with 19 floors (20 counting the roof) this tower has multiple tiers of suites/offices, along with a two-story master suite (18th floor). Continuing south, you cross over the river via a birch bridge, and you reach the beginnings of a suburban area. There are two stone-brick and red sandstone buildings, each with two stories and four homes. Following the road westward from there, you reach the Farm, which is completely fenced-off, has a stock/supply building, and has a wheat farm (I'm planning to expand the farm to include animal pens soon). The farm also has three guard dogs.
That's pretty much the village, sorry I couldn't include a photo here. Anyways, I hope you like my village, and please consider protecting it ASAP.

@OctoGamer My favorite memory on VillageCraft is from when I first joined (~late 2015) and everyone on the server was really nice to me. That is when I joined Snoopyton and bought my first home from Japo. People also gave me free stuff because I was new

This might sound like a really weird question, but I'm completely serious. Can you unprotect a village area that you own? And if so, would you get a $5K refund (from the money you paid to get it protected in the first place)?

Yeah I decided to take a break from the server and I came back a few days ago to see if I was released, but I am still in jail and I can't really do anything. That's why I posted the appeal. Also, the last entry on the "VillageCraft Staff Action Registry" is from April 26th, 2015, so I don't think that it is updated.

Stealing/Griefing (I can no longer remember the usernames of the people I stole from - it's been a long time)
State what you would like to happen to your case and why (pardoned/forgiven/etc):
About a year ago, I played on this server regularly and started stealing people's heads (which were placed in their homes) along with some other objects (which I cannot remember now). I deeply regret my decision to indulge in banned activities that I did. I've been jailed for quite a while, and I would like to be released/unjailed. Like I said, it has been about a year (or more) since I committed the crime, and I have changed a lot since then. If given the chance, I will now follow every rule put in place by the server administrators. I really liked this server and wish I could take back what I did. But, I can't, so all I'm asking for is another chance. If there are temporary restrictions that the administrators would want to put upon me to make sure I don't engage in any more criminal activity, I would be completely fine, as long the restrictions would be removed once the administrators were convinced that I have changed my ways. Mostly, I really want to apologize to the administrators and the people who I stole from and hurt because I truly do feel bad about it. I hope you consider my appeal and allow to participate on this server again.
