Perhaps I have the unpopular opinion here, but I don't think a low percentage is the way to go with this. Part of the fun of skipping night is communicating with other players to accomplish skipping. I support moving it down to say 75% though because I remember all the times there would be one person keeping the rest of us from skipping when we want to. If the number of players needed to skip night is too low, if I was a player who didn't want to skip night because I like killing mobs / need mob drops, then I would never be able to enjoy the night. I think it should still have effort to skip, but not the 100% it currently is.

Would the next person rather be dirt poor but truly happy or filthy rich but miserable?

As a parent, I have to go with filthy rich and miserable, because even if I wasn't happy I could make sure that my family and my kids had everything they needed, and I could help other people.  Dirt poor me couldn't be truly happy because I'd be worried about taking care of my loved ones.

Next poster, would you rather live in the mountains or at the beach?

I'm actually thinking of moving somewhere by the beach after college, so... the beach. The ocean is one of the coolest things ever to me and I probably would've majored in Marine Biology if I didn't seriously suck at science. Screw dealing with hurricanes though.

What is the next poster's favorite warm drink ie coffee?

I love sweet black hot tea! I have been really into Irish Breakfast for the past year, but I'm trying to branch out more. One of my all time favorites is Darjeeling Estate black tea, which is from India. I'm more of a tea person then a coffee person for sure.

Another one of my favorite VC Memories is discovering my love of Mob Arena with my bestest friend Nurtul! I had never played it and when Luis said it worked we had to play it one night. I quickly became obsessed and we credit it as the beginning of our friendship! So if anyone is up for a game of Mob Arena, hit me up! The best friendships are forged over a game of Mob Arena.

I had a really good discussion about this a few months ago where ifn your goals are too vauge, that's why it's hard to have any concrete success. For example instead of saying I'm going to draw more, set the goal I'm going to do a sketchbook page a week. Or whatever goal system works for you!

I think your year of skill building sounds so fun and I think it opens you up to exploring so many cool hobbies! Who knows what you will discover!

I've talked in great length on the fact that 2023 will be my Year of Travel! I plan on traveling on some sort of trip every month of 2023 from larger trips to smaller day trips. I also will be doing at least one hike every month because I've been slacking on that hobby that brings me great joy.

I think a theme is a great way to focus your goals without being overwhelmed. I know my sister used to chose a word of the year which could help set the tone of what she wants to accomplish. The theme seems to set a similar tone. Can't wait to hear what everyone elses 2023 becomes and we should totally recap at the end!

One of my favorite VC Memories is building my lighthouse in the Ocean build comp with all my friends around me! It was a build comp where I pushed my limits for the first time build wise and made a ton of new friends that I adore to this day! <3

I mean I get the appeal of them and their convenience, but I don't like either as I'm not a fan of this new-fangled idea where everything is a subscription and I never end up owning the things I'm paying for, and where providers sometimes take a huge chunk of the artists's earnings. There's been plenty of cases where both have screwed over both artists and customers, and neither sit well with me. Maybe I'm just old but I do miss the days when you used to be able to buy a CD and own it forever, or even downloading it from iTunes or other similar services and that file be yours. It doesn't surprise me people are turning more towards "piracy" by downloading music from various sites, because at least that way it's permanent, and the naive part of me wants to believe people will support their favourite artists in other ways. Long ramble, sorry

What is the weirdest gift the next poster has ever received?

For Christmas 2019 my spouse's aunt got me a PhoneSoap.  You can check out their website - www.phonesoap.com. I thought it was the strangest gift ever, and turned out to be so helpful once the pandemic hit a few weeks later.  We would put phones, keys, credit cards, whatever in it.  DDR's iPad that he had to take to school, etc.  Weird, then oddly useful.

What's the next posters favourite vc drama ?

This is a hard one, but for me the farm ban drama was very entertaining, in retrospect. It caused a lot of shit between players and made a lot of people angry, but the process of making the policy, as a political science student, was very entertaining and interesting. And, in the end, the ban was removed later, so nothing was really affected in the long run.

What is the next poster's opinion on ginger ale? As a Michigan resident, my blood is basically made of Vernors, but I know that it is a controversial drink. Also, what about cream soda?

Personally, ginger ale is not bad. I typically only drink it when I am under the weather. I do prefer ginger ale when it comes from a glass bottle! As for cream soda, it is personally one of my favorite drinks! 

What is the next posters favorite cryptid? (An example is my personal favorite is mothman.)

I don't know if favorite is the right word but I feel like I have to say Bigfoot. My dad told me about Bigfoot when I was 8 years old and I looked up a bunch of creepy videos of it on YouTube. Weeks of nightmares ensued. I distinctly remember screaming and crying in the middle of the night because I couldn't stop thinking about Bigfoot coming to get me, waking up my parents who desperately tried to assure me that Bigfoot was not real so that I would go back to bed. (It didn't work very well). My mom really hated my dad for telling me about him. The best part of this is that we lived in the flattest, driest, desert-y region of West Texas. Sasquatch being notorious for hanging out in heavily wooded/snowy locations.

What is the next poster's favorite fall/halloween themed movie or tv show?

I really like to watch any horror movie during Spooky Season(TM). I also really like the classic animated movies like Coraline and The Nightmare Before Christmas.

What is the next poster's opinion on winter? Is it better than summer? Why or why not?

I ADORE Winter!! I like getting to bundle up and wear my sweaters! Hot food is the best especially when it's cold outside! It's always the slow season at work so I get plenty of time to recharge in the form of vacations and friend time. I also get overheated very easily which makes me sick so I don't really like summer for that reason and probably why I prefer winter so I don't get heat sick. Summer is fine. Fall and Spring are my favorites, but Winter is better than Summer to me!

What does specific fall activity does the next poster have to do every year? (Ex: Carve a pumpkin, go to a fall festival, drink a pumpkin spice latte)

I absolutely love fall! My favorite activity is hanging out around a campfire. I know that some people consider this a summer, activity, but I find it way too hot to enjoy being around the fire. I love bundling up and sitting around the fire with friends, drinking cider and just enjoying each other's company. I'd say a close second has to be cooking soups (I'm from the midwest, I have to say that )

Regardless of the technical wording, if you want to get technical Kale wasn't a new player. Finding a player on dynmap at this time and killing is allowed. I would love Senate to create a rule to help future new players but as it stands I don't see a rule being broken.

If the Senate wants to implement a new rule like that, I would 100% support it. As it stands I'm not convinced any of our current rules were broken. Does it suck to be killed? Absolutely, I've never liked it, but it's not against our VillageCraft rules. There were no traps involved, no /tpa, which is exactly what the rule means I'm not following the home speculation with CRH seeing as when you're an old player you have homes all over the map.

Thank you Kale for reporting this! Every player has the right to report something if they feel it's against our rules for Staff to review.  It's of my opinion that no rules were broken but I'll allow any other staff to chime in if they feel differently.
