Forty-five years ago on the 24th of December this photograph was taken:

At the time, it encompassed the entirety of humanity; everything humankind had created and everywhere we had explored within one frame, with the exception of the Apollo 8 Spacecraft and crew themselves. Science, friends, is an awe-inspiring thing. Enjoy your holidays :)

An amazing photograph, showing just how beautiful the planet really is. Shame it won't always be like that :/
