Windows 10, free

Yep. Microsoft is giving Windows 10 for free, for anyone that has windows 7 or 8. This is free for private users and only for one year from release.

Works as a free upgrade through Windows update. Apparently it won't wipe your hard drive, if you don't feel like reformatting.

Going by what seems the tradition of every second Windows version sucking, and Windows 8 sucking hard, this is likely to be a good version.

Comes with Cortana (Windows version of Siri).

This free upgrade will even work for pirated versions of eligible Windows versions.

So thoughts?

With a year to observe, I will wait and see.

I read W10 is meant to go back and build upon what makes Windows great, rather than the weird split personality of W8, so I'm hopeful.

Ill probably upgrade since windows 8 sucks, and it seems to be much better. My only complaint is Cortana. Why do I need voice search on a desktop? Hopefully they let you disable it.

Yeah I have 7 which is why I don't mind waiting. I have 8 on my laptop so I'll probably upgrade instantly because holy shit 8 is terrible.

Yes you can obviously disable Cortana or just plain old not use it or whatever.

U have to reserve it, which i did Also, Windows 8 has "voice control" A very useless and outdated piece of shit. It picks up everything and shuts down all of ur programs u have up if u say: close [Program], it will delete everything
