Do the monster eggs depend on the mob or are they random too?

Is monster egg referring to the poorly-named blocks that contain Silverfish mobs? Or to the eggs that spawn mobs?

Actually, it's out of order right now. It's become clear that people are intent on taking advantage of a bug in the design, so I've had to disable it. Once I redesign it, it'll be re-enabled.
