captain falcon won a major!
« on: 11 September 2017, 03:53:49 PM »
it has finally happened, captain falcon has won a melee major!! (last time this happened was in 2005 by Isai, a top smash 64 player now, and before that in 2003 by Isai as well)

although yesterday n0ne, a Nicaraguan-Canadian falcon player won Dreamhack Montreal. (doing Canada proud!)

This image was the top 8, as you can see, n0ne didn't drop a single game in winners semis, finals and grands. although I was hoping Chudat would make it to grands and bop n0ne (because i like chudat more) it was cool to see Kage double eliminate Chu and make it to grands (Canadian grandfinals falcon vs ganon = hype) for a runback against n0ne (lost 3-0 both times lol) Kage, mains ganon, a character hardly ever seen in top 8, let alone grand finals, so that was hype also, would have been funny if ganon won a modern-day major before falcon lol, considering ganon= shitty falcon.

I'd also like to mention, Chudat is ranked 7th, while n0ne is ranked 18th, while Kage is ranked 70th, so that was a huge upset, Chudat was the clear favorite to win but got his run ended in third being double eliminated by Kage.

I was expecting n0ne vs Chudat in losers quarters, not dizzkid vs chudat. (n0ne mid-set tweeted about dizzkids lame playstyle a while back and walked off midset)

since dreamhacks taking so god damn long to upload the vods, here's a highlights video if anyones interested.

I know not many people care about this game, but I do, and I wanted to share this since Falcons never won a modern major, and Ganondorf being so close aswell.
