What I did: Violation of rule #20 under 'modifications and hacking' (X-ray)
I would like to be forgiven.
I joined the server yesterday and am a new member. I shouldn't have skimmed through the rules so briefly and overlooked important messages, I apologize. I went digging, and turned on an X-Ray texture pack for the purpose of finding diamonds. I was using it for about 10 minutes and Octogamer told me to stop. I apologized and didn't realize that I wasn't supposed to use it, as I have used it on other servers before. At this point, I turned it off. He took my diamonds and gave me a warning. I understand what I did wrong and it was totally my fault, I wish to be forgiven for this mistake. A person that was on, invited me to teleport to his base. I accepted and went there. I am not sure if he was the one who told me that I could go back mining if I pressed '/back', but someone on the server did. He then gave me some used and enchanted diamond equipment. I said thanks and went back to mining using /back. Keep in mind that at this point, I understood that using X-ray was not allowed, and if so, i would be banned. I did not want to be banned as I was new on the server, and it seemed pretty great so far. I mined without using X-Ray, when again Octogamer told me that I needed to stop using it. I got really confused and frustrated because I wasn't mining using X-ray. I told him that I wasn't. He told me that I was indeed using it still and asked for proof using a screenshot. I asked "How do you screenshot?" and he said that I should've known how to screenshot if I knew how to use an X-Ray texture pack. Then he put me in a jail cell for 3 seconds and banned me.
I got really worked up because I knew I wasn't lying when I said that I wasn't using a texture pack for the second time. The first time, I was using the texture pack for the SOLE purpose to get diamonds. The second time he accused me, I hadn't found any diamonds.
When I got banned, I took my time to read over the rules carefully and reflect on what just happened. I wondered how he thought I was using X-Ray the second time. I then came over an article where someone got banned because he teleported to a tunnel that was mined using X-Ray. I came to the conclusion that he assumed I was using X-Ray again because I was mining in the same tunnel, but I thought I could still mine in there because I turned off the X-Ray pack. I understand why he banned me, and I probably would have banned myself too because dealing with this many players on a daily basis can be annoying and a waste of his time. I am here to say sorry to Octogamer and everyone on Villagecraft and I want and hope that I can be unbanned from the server and be able to start over again.
If you are wondering how I knew how to use the X-Ray texture pack, it was because my brother downloaded it and told me how to access it. This account was his before, and was previously named (Demoser) before I changed it yesterday. I now know how to screenshot, using f2.
