Slight change to how forum accounts are created
« on: 1 August 2019, 05:40:47 PM »
Just a small note to say that, due to some spam activity on the forums, in order to log into the forums, you now need to run a command in-game which will give you a code. You won't be able to create a new forum account without this code.

If you see anyone confused as to how to create an account, help them out by telling them the command, which is /forumscode. However, if you see people join the server and pretty much straight away ask for the command, message me or any member of staff their username.

(Don't share the code on here, if you do I'll just delete your message)

For anyone wondering, this is what ~54 IPs look like when you put their lat/long on a map. Whoever our spammer is clearly is using a VPN, as some of the IPs in Europe/US registered with a .ru domain. Each green dot is the IP of where someone tried to create an account, all rendered at 50% opacity so the brighter dots indicate multiple hits from the same location. The grey dots are just microstates, because I forgot to hide them when I was generating the map

If @Akomine wants to do a better explanation as to this process, he can. I'm tired and can't think of how to word this sensibly
