Formal Draft for Senate Vote #5a: (1) Amendment to proposed rewrite of Rule 0, (2) adding Addendum
With the passing of this legislation, the following changes will be put to a vote by the Parliament of VillageCraft
This is the current wording proposed by the Senate, after much deliberation between the Senate and Parliament
---
NOTE: This will be an itemized vote, in which Item 1 can be passed independent from Item 2. Item 2, however, cannot be passed without the passing of Item 1.
Item 1)
If "Yes" is majority, the following changes will be implemented to the proposed wording of Rule 0.
If "No" is majority, the current wording will remain
Amending proposed change to Rule 0, changing the wording to the following:
1) Rule 0 will be redefined and rewritten as the following;
Status: Enforced
Keywords: Douche, Golden Rule, Hate Speech, Toxicity
Definition/Explanation:
- Treat others how you would like to be treated
- Staff Members reserve the ability to take action against persons displaying excessive "douchey" behavior, including but not limited to, hateful speech/symbolism, excessive toxicity, or in-game harassment; this rule will be enforced under circumstances where significant impact is done upon the recipient of the above.
Last Updated: XX, March, 2021
Other Information: This is now lightly enforced
Item 2)
If "Yes" is majority, the following addendum will be set in place for Rule 0.
If "No" is majority, the addendum will not be added.
Adding the proposed Addendum, which will only be required when administering some punishments related to Rule 0. Official wording is as follows:
When punishing players for breaking Rule 0,
-Locking chat channels, temporary mutes, and permanent mutes can be administered at staff discretion.
-Any banning, whether temporary or permanent, must be discussed and agreed upon by two other staff members, resulting in a total of three staff members approving of the punishment.
(Note to Senate members, I have grouped these two together under one vote, but when facing the Parliament they will be divided into two votes, Item 1 and Item 2. This was done to give Parliament the final say on whether or not they want the addendum to be added, as there was intense arguments on both sides and I feel like the players have a right to decide for themselves).
