i destroyed my chest will loads of rail then 2 mins later when i came back it was gone no one else was on and they weren't int my inventory

So you destroyed the chest containing them and they were just sitting around on the ground? They might have despawned..

Ah, yea if they despawned that sucks :( Maybe take Jan up on her offer. Try to set up a time when you both can be online. When are you usually on?
