Questions on villages.

I have a awesome village called Hillside and I need to expand.  But I'm surrounded by unattended "villages" that are
1.  Never used
2.  No one joins
3.  No one is ever there

Will I ever get to expand or will I have to go somewhere else and build?

And how do I buy these inactive villages if thief owners are never online?

You can buy inactive villages if I remember correctly. I believe Islid did so with Greystone.

You can take them over if the active owners are long gone, or if the active members don't want it.
