I believe 'I'm proceeding anyway' was the direct quote, Mister Innocent. ;)

And as I told you earlier - no, they are not allowed.

Runek you didn't even tell me you were on the [Server] shout..
You ignored me when I said, " Well if an admin doesn't get on the server, I'm proceeding with this. "
But you stayed on the [Server] shout and completely ignored what I said.

Naw, I warned you twice prior to that. =)

Take it to your ban appeal - wrong board.

Redstone to Obsidian generators are not allowed, kindof like how printing fake money on printer paper in real life isn't allowed.

i have built several for other players as part of my redstone construct shop, cj had one in atlantis, and i had a staff member ask me pricing to have me build one for them.

are all of these structures banned and need to be destroyed?

I used a youtube video that made 7 obsid blocks per go, though you could easily design one to do more.

Redstone $6*7=$42
Obsidian sellprice $25*7=$175

With a diamond pick I made $133.
It used up 0.4% of the pick's 1562 uses, meaning it has 1555 remaining.
If each use yields 19$, the pick could make you $29,678 in it's lifetime.
With an unenchanted pick, this would take 4 hours to do. For every efficiency enchant level this would be sped up by 30%, or if efficiency V; 270%.

Maybe for the input, the output is fair and these things should be perfectly allowed.
Maybe not?
Thoughts?

Based on the output from one pick, that value is on the very high side. I've had Aysun doing some tests for reworking blacksmith pricing, and that's basically on par with a Fortune 3 + Unbreaking 3 pick.

Legalizing (lol legalizing) at the current prices would devalue enchanted picks compared to their unenchanted base models.

We could make these OK for use with the intention of helping those that simply want to build with obsidian, and lower the obsidian sell price to compensate for anyone trying to exploit it. Lowering the sell price to between 10-15 bucks a pop looks like it would effectively throw the exploit in the trash.. You could still use it to make money.. but it's output would be more on-scale with the time required.

I'm perfectly fine with people using them to get obsidian for construction.
Maybe the sell price reduction is good.

Think about it, Awesome - if everything is dirt cheap then everyone can just buy everything. There would be no reason to go out and mine or raise animals or farm, you could just buy it all in Qualia.

By the same token, shops in other villages would be pointless, since you have to sell less than Qualia to make it worthwhile.

Qualia shops are expensive for a reason - and honestly I still think they're too cheap as is. :)

You got a point Runek. The things are too cheap and the sell price does not make a good profit. I think there should be a raise in both but in the buy price is should be at least x2 the sell price. So there is a actually a point of looking for a good shop with good prices.

if you look at most items in the market, the sell price and the buy price are different by about 20-40% depending on the item. obsidian however is a 87.5% price reduction(200 vs 25) for selling to the shop, i though this originally was just for that reason.... to lower the price due to players using obsidian gens

I would like to point out that there are really only two good and surefire ways of getting money. Pumpkins and Obsidian. Yes, there is always mining, but if you look at where most of the people are at most of the time, the mines are running dry. Obsidian has always been alright, and this is the first time I've ever seen anything about generators being illegal. I have one at my island and use it from time to time when I dont want to lag the server with the farm. So why is obsidian now a "no-no"?

Sand generator does not equal Obsidian generator. One you get stuff from nothing and the other you have to supply redstone.

There quite a few different ways to make them.

Even if we make obsidian generators legal, sand and gravel generators will still not be allowed. Please don't build them. :)

May I ask exactly why are generators banned if they are apart of minecraft?  Because I have a snowball generator(don't ban me) do I have to take it down?

Not sure what a snowball generator is but I can't help but think it sounds fine.

The obsidian ones I'm thinking are probably fine too.

The sand/gravel one, however, is literally something from nothing and is also a very effective lag machine, please don't.

So to make this clear obsidian, snowball, etc. are allowed as long they reguire to turn something into something else.  On the other hand sand and gravel generators are not allowed.

But I have 1 more question: can I make a sand and gravel generator if I can find a way to create sand with something else?  Instead of creating things out of noting.
Best Wishes,
