Dynamap
« on: 1 April 2013, 02:23:18 AM »
Been playing on this server for ages now and it is amazing but one thing really bugs me. Everybody lives on there own little islands (not really) and we have absolutely no sense of positioning within the map. Tping has become a life line and I think it ruins the game. I have tried very hard to link up villages around me and so far 5 villages have been connected via a road we all helped to make. Knowing where we are and who is near us is vital for trading and progression on the server. I am pitching dynamap (I know people have suggested before) but this time i am not suggesting I am requesting. If there was enough admins who agreed I see no reason why it cant be added ASAP. I even attached the link for ease. Please add this. Lag is a major problem and we could probably reduce it by finding abandoned villages on the map and demolishing them( we could give the materials to newbies)

What problems?
Surely they can or have been fixed?

It would weed out the griefers though. :P

Dynamap was before my time, though I've heard it was a cluster. Once I get the server all updated (Happening this week) I can play around with it, but no promises.

It really depends on the plugin itself, and how it behaves with our other plugins - remember that we don't actually make these things. :P

DYNMAP*
Why does everone say Dyna?
Whatever, anyways:
The problem was that we had an ULTRA-hires version that had an ultra-hires 3d AND overhead view enabled. It was huge and laggy.
We could probably use the lowest res and be okay.

Ako is gay and has superaids - Air
