How about these:
1. Keeps. This is a war.
2. No breaking actual server rules (if it isn't already obvious...)
3. No griefing.
4. Betrayal is allowed. >=)
5. War is on even if only one player from each side is online.
6. Both 'generals', so to speak, have a list of the opposing side's players, which they are free to use as they will.

ok just to show how good are your soldiers you list them with a ranking and your soldier count.mossy you must list your soldiers
example:

You are new on the server, no one knows you. You near immediately called a war, since you are new not many people would be willing to join your side. If anyone drove you off the server it's you, for being so militant lol.

Don't give up, build up and make some friends, stockpile some resources, make some farms. Then later you can declare a war with better sides and gear. In the meantime you could just duel for no keeps or try kill monsters without them hitting you to train up your combat skills.
