I never really played Pokemon games as a kid, except for Pokemon Yellow (Pikachu addition or something) Though I was too young to get far at all in it because I was stupid as fuck.

I just recently wanted to start playing pokemon games because they are quite fun and I really enjoyed playing my first one, Pokemon Ruby and am now starting Pokemon FireRed which I've barely started but am liking already!

I am really interested in playing a large majority of the pokemon games and I was wondering for anyones opinion on their favorites and anything related to pokemon.

Thoughts?

A lot of people give shit to the new gens, but I have no problem with them. I like White 2, because its Elite 4 is a bit strange. So it makes you train pokemon that you would normally pass over and use a different style of playing

Emerald, HeartGold, and Platinum are all fun.
Though if you can look past how ridiculous most of gen 5 look, they're fun as well.

I completed Emerald, FireRed, Yellow and Black 2. .I like the story to Black 2 so thats a good game to play. I especialy like the trading system of black 2. I traded my Level 1 phione for a level 100 Shiny Palkia. Knitefall wanna trade sometime? A Good NDS emulator would be Desmume since thats what i use and for the roms go to ffinsider

I feel like Stadium and Stadium 2 were basically spin-offs.

Personally, I thought fourth gen was crap. Kovos liked it.

Black/White was good too. Never got the 2nd one, I was supposed to get it for xmas from my ex

We can all choose our favourite gens (I enjoy every one of them) but why don't we just go with what we agree on instead of disagree on?

I never played any jrpg's when growing up. Now when I play them the style of combat and using menus is really odd to me, plus they force grinding lol. I think my first RPG was actually Planescape: Torment, talk about a good start  . Maybe I would have liked Pokemon but never really had an opportunity to play it.

By "gen" I think most of us mean the list of available Pokémon, where gen 1 has 151, and gen 2 has 251 (I think?), rather than the order the games came out, right?

Isn't FireRed just the original gen 1 151?
