Luis needs YOU!
« on: 8 June 2013, 05:30:23 PM »
Hey everyone!

A while ago I asked a few of you to test my mod for me here. Since then 1.4 and 1.5 have both hit and many changes have been made, things added, things removed, compatibilities made and bugs squished. Below I have enclosed my latest screenshot showing off all of the blocks that I add.

For those of you who didn't see my last post about this, my mod is created with Minecraft Forge for SSP and SMP, and adds decorative blocks into the game, as well as a few villagers and some slightly OP tools. I have been working on it for about 9 months and it has gone through 3 major versions of Minecraft.

Why am I telling you this you may ask! Well, I have got to the point where I add 69 laugh if you will, that migth have been funny a few months ago, but grow up... blocks into the game, and have run out of ideas. My question to you is this:

IF YOU COULD HAVE ONE DECORATIVE BLOCK IN MINECRAFT, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

By decorative I mean no blocks that give you super speed or craft-anything-out-of-air workbenches or stupid things that only cause greif and havoc... I am open to any suggestions that you may have and will try to get around to adding them all.

Any blocks with custom models (Like the brewing stand or hopper) can be suggested but migth not be implemented straight away. Regular cube blocks are easy though and may be added as soon as Chaos gives me a texture for them...

Thanks for reading!
Luis :D

Sounds good, but you yourself said it is a little overpowered..

- New beacons? (different colours)
As in the beam? Possibly...

- Lightbulbs? Just place dat stuff on the floor/ceiling and it turns on
The two multicoloured poles on the edge of my pic are actually lamps like the redstone lamp, just in different colours. I also add a chandelier which I somehow missed out of the pic...

- White fences
- A cabinet that works as a chest but looks like a cabinet? :D
- Couch
Sounds cool!

- Stripper pole
Hm...

Overall though some great ideas!

I like the beacon idea
Like multiangled beacos, so they can face any direction with the beam coming out

how about wool slabs for pixel art and such?
My advice to everyone else on this server:
I encourage you all to make something of your lives. I implore you not to waste your "glory days" in front of a computer screen like I did. Go out into the world, but do not live like everyone else. Strive to stand above and bring the others up with your knowledge and hard work.-Kovos Datch

Just for you air :P
All fully craftable and all work as beacons, and give you effects ect. Just need to put a beacon with a dye in a crafting bench and BOOM, disco!

- White fences

I liked this idea very much, however I was unsure about how to implement it. I realised that I have a white marble block and so decided to add a fence for that, but got a little carried away and added some for some other blocks too :D

I kinda want a mud or quicksand block, that will spawn in jungles or swamplands. When you step into it, you will start to drown just like water and pulled down. The only way out should be digging all the quicksand out, and getting out of the formed ditch. I think it will be awesome!

I imagine so. Just locate toppyour TP folder like:
ROOT/mods/DecoCraft/textures/...

I don't know if this is possible, but maybe you could make it so you could combine different half-slabs, to make half blocks, like half-quartz, half-planks.

Lots of mods do this with their half slabs but I'm not sure how easy/hard it would be to overwrite the vanilla one... I could give it a go though!

different colored beds or different colored blocks?
- Stripper pole
and that one is easy to make just make a fence pole going up and under put a giant spawner
if he could animated it to grey it could look a bit more like it.
