Good gaming laptops?

I am gunna be saving for a new gaming laptop for around £1000 , i really need some help because i dont know much about most of them, i saw an alienware m17x laptop but since they got took over by dell im a bit sceptical, anyway... Anyone know any good ones for around £1000?

If not get something nice. Definitely not an overpriced Alienware though.

My PC is perfect for all those things and it is more powerful than any Mac on the market

i have the lenovo ideapad y500. it whoops ass for 1k usd (1.3k usd if its not on sale but i think it is) also you can add a second gpu,harddrive, whatever

Getting a laptop is a HUGE mistake, usually more expensive than a desktop and they never last that long. I had an apparently "good laptop for gaming" and it couldn't play MC for shit, getting a $500 desktop over a $500 laptop is a huge step up. A laptop is like 1/5th of a desktop... just portable and stupid.

I have a mac and its fast enough to play MC. Some people may say it is laggy but its not for me because I started playing MC on a website that had free mc since 1.2.5 I didn't see the light no lag until I bought it in 1.3. It used to lag like airs mom in bed

Also yeah definitely do not get alienware junk. It's like a mac for people that don't want a mac. Look up a few laptops, then google the model a bit, search something like "<laptop model> gaming review" or such, you want a laptop that gets good FPS, has decent memory, no screen issues with games and doesn't overheat.

this is the whole point of making the thread, i'd have no problem getting a desktop pc but i go places often and it wouldnt be any good for me, thats why i need ideas for laptops that will do what i need them to
