Believe it or not, it was two years ago today that the first people walked their way out of our leaky little spawn.
Yep. December 1st, today, marks the second year that our unique server has been rockin' and rollin'.
Whether you were here from the start, or joined recently, we'd like to thank everyone for making it the cool server it is.Because it is the joyous month of December, we are going to go into a detailed historical background of the Pagan festivals that influenced our modern end-of-year statutory public holidays.
"Really?"
Nah. Screw that. Two years of VC, how aboot some cool announcements instead?
We were going to try to get these done by Dec 1st, but a bunch of us got busy, Ako got sick, and Airbo's mom got nasal herpes again. But regardless, they will be done soon, and they should be really cool additions to the server for all players to enjoy! So, announcement time!
Announcement One:
Tal AvarThis beautifully-designed desert hub will serve as VillageCraft's second ever Public Village (Qualia has held the position since day one). It will have a set of thing to do and see, including it's own shops, a palace everyone is free to enter, server games, events, and a labyrinth of sewers underneath for players to fight their way through. The server will likely start spawning new players in Tal Avar once the village is a bit more complete, and after a while spawning will probably be randomly rotated between Qualia and Tal Avar.
Tal Avar isn't just a spawn town; it has a whole second announcement within it:
Announcement Two:
Tal Avar BazaarLocated within the upcoming new spawn town is a whole new spawn town market. But this isn't like the Qualia Market. This one doesn't contain server-run shops. This one is an entirely player-run market. Players will be able to rent shops/stalls and set them up the way they like, with the prices they want. The Tal Avar Bazaar will have a public warp to make it easily accessible. It is intended to be a go-to place to find things for sale, ads, and notices. Accordingly, we will likely be changing the Qualia Market's prices to not only make the Bazaar worthwhile, but an essential part of the server.
Announcement Three:
The MoonYou know that thing in the sky among those shiny twinkly things? Let's go there! In fact, pretty soon we'll be able to. The Moon is a completely separate world from VillageCraft's overworld. Based on the actual topography of the real-life moon, soon we will all be bouncing around the mountains and craters in low gravity together. You can indeed build Moon villages! Just so long as they keep the whole air-tight thing into consideration. The moon is full of things to mine, as well as things to kill you. Should be fun. Starships will be taking passengers up for a price in the near future. VIPs who are interesting in visiting early can bother Akomine on how they might be able to do so.
Announcement Four:
VillageCraft Vanilla 1.7.2Bukkit is just starting to trickle out some very crude builds of 1.7, which means soon enough VCV will update. The update will likely be unstable, but that's what VCV is for; messing around with new versions right once we are able to. Stay tuned.
