Tl;dr at the bottom.
So, I'm currently on the bus, Im in a lake effect snow area so we have a huge snow inch. They decided that standardized testing was more important than students' lives. So they gave us a 2-hour delay. I was outside in 13°F weather (-2°F wind chill) for about 20 minutes waiting for the dang bus. I went back inside and waited for the bus for another 15 minutes. After finally seeing the bus, I ran up a hill to get to my bus in about 5-6 inches in snow. I get on and see something bizarre. There was only 1/5 of the normal students on (7 people). My friend told me they were stuck for about 7 minutes.
After 10 minutes of driving 4MPH down a shitty road. We finally get to the next stop. Guess what, there's a tree down. We had to wait 6 minutes waiting for the bus department to decide what to do (The kid is mentally retarded). The bus assistant went and got him. So then, when we picked him up, there's 30 minutes left before school starts. It takes 20 to get there on a good day.
Currently, everybody on the bus is calling the bus department to complain about the drivers having to drive in this horrible weather (Including me). The Superintendent of this school system is retiring after this year. So I guess this is his farewell message. This is why where I live is a shitty school corporation.
Tl;dr-Bus gets stuck. Im freezing my ass off. Shitty plows. No one cares about the students or bus drivers. Everyone around us cancelled.
Edit: They cancelled the standardized testing. So they just risked our lives with this shitty weather
