Disapearing Jetpack

I was playing on the server using my level 3 jet pack, when I experienced a major bug.
The server was kind of laggy so it wasn't easy to control the jet pack but it was use-able. I was working on one of this bigger structures in my village, the Helix when the 45% durability jet pack just disappeared. The reason I find this so annoying is that I have no way of showing proof of this glitch happening as, I wasn't expecting it to just disappear. Please try to fix this and possibly compensate (I know this will be hard as I have no proof) Even if you cannot compensate please try to make sure others don't experience this same rage-enduing bug.

I want to add that even the logs will not show proof, as the buying of the jet pack was done through Skype with payment in gold.

i find this hard to believe. i don't think you should get another jetpack back..

Can't help but agree with Octo...
I think Minecraft is pretty good at having items not randomly disappear from your inventory, but someone correct me if that's not true.

Frankly, jetpacks lose their durability quicker than you think.

That's why I only use mine sparingly.

Fireboy complained about this to me on the server.   Not only did he claim the jetpack just disappeared, he also claimed he had and unbreaking enchantment on it as well.   Am I getting this right fireboy?

Frankly, jetpacks lose their durability quicker than you think.

That's why I only use mine sparingly.

If fireboy is telling the truth, then his jetpack is probably a higher level than yours, meaning it's durability runs down slower.

I don't think that unbreaking even does anything.

This is why i think its a scam.  he says he bought the jetpack over skype, and purchased it with gold. He alsoclaims to have had an enchantment on it according to dave. (Which may be wrong not really sure, just going off what Dave told me) I tried to enchant jetpacks when they  were first implemented and it was not possible. I personally find all this a little hard to believe. like ako said minecraft is good at not having items disappear, I've never lost an item from my inventory like that. If it was in his enderchest or backpack i could see it disappearing though.

I have an Unbreaking 3 jetpack, I killed someone for it.
