The second Gerelskovy election draws near with more Parties involved than before. With a new and improved voting system you will be allowed to rank your Parties one to five. Here we have a profile of the Parties and some of their issues they have pressed during debates. Voting closes on the 28th. Link to ballot here: https://goo.gl/forms/FEdlBhJN1khXoRQI3

I see what you did there.

With all major Parties deciding that due to no new votes coming in, and with 47 total ballots cast at the moment with no more predicted to come in, the polls are now closed.

4 days in advance

The results are as follows:

Centre-Left Monarchists: 30.11%

The Independent Party: 13.83%

The Queervolution: 13.50%

The Gravoli Party: 4.97%

First Preference Votes goes as follows:

Cake and Cookies: 21

Centre-Left Monarchists: 17

The Independent Party: 4

The Queervolution: 5

The Gravoli Party: 0

Proportional Seat Allocation goes as follows:

Cake and Cookies: 10

Centre-Left Monarchists: 8

Following these results, CDPIV is now formally declared the Prime Minister again, for his second term. Let us welcome the new Parties into Parliament as well.

Due to a slowing influx of votes, the administration has decided that the polls will be closing TONIGHT

There have been 3 votes today, a major decrease from 8 votes submitted yesterday, and 15 votes on Thursday. If the polls were to be open tomorrow, there would not be a vote as most precincts in KOG have gotten all votes from their respective areas.

Poll closing times:
UK time: 23:00 PM
EST: 6:00 PM (18:00)
Central: 5:00 PM (17:00)
Mountain: 4:00 PM (16:00)
PST: 3:00 PM (15:00)

Exit polls and demographics will be published before the polls close since we have been able to pinpoint votes, along with a double-check of counts to confirm that voter fraud has not occurred to those skeptical of any results: one party has attempted to rig the ballot, but this will be double-checked since it has already been fixed. After calculations and a double check, the results of the 1st 2017 Gerelskovy Parliamentary Election will be posted, and seats will be distributed.

Full results will be in by:
UK time: 24:00 (midnight)
EST: 7:00 PM (19:00)
Central: 6:00 PM (18:00)
Mountain: 5:00 PM (17:00)
PST: 4:00 PM (16:00)

The results of the election are in! ... And here they are:

Liberal Party
: 38.96% (12 seats)

Cake and Cookies: 27.27% (9 seats)

Gerelskovy Democrats: 18.18% (5 seats)

Queervolution: 12.99% (4 seats)

Independent Party: 2.6% (0 seats)

Left-Right Spectrum. Parties are as follows: Gere Democrats, C&C, Queervolution, Liberal Party.

The Liberal Party and Queervolution have formed a coalition government with the Liberal Party supplying the Prime Minister, LividUp64. LividUp64 was confirmed by parliament during a session an hour after the election results. The votes were 16-14, split along bloc lines.

Here is the link for the exit polls.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-sdzjJniJKm8Q6iZOJx-IbUUbXLmVRoAEkXiJOZKJew

As we can observe from the exit polls, the Cake and Cookies party lost by a large margin compared to the CLM (now Liberal) loss last election in September.

Many people who supported a Cake and Cookies government (including me myself) switched over to the Liberal party. The Liberal Party won this election due to the Cake and Cookies alienating and rejecting much of the upper class and concentrating on the middle class, along with little interaction of former PM CDPIV with the citizens of Gere. The ballots suggest that they lost 1/3 (10%+ of the electorate) of their supporters from September.

The rich Gerelskovians heavily supported the Liberal Party, who are going to help them.

IronShadow's revolution polled in significant numbers in his debut for the Gere Democrats, who fared well among those in the rural areas and don't have a good education, and attracted much of the lower class (many without jobs and on welfare) with their promises of a government economy and limited capitalism.

The Queervolution, through much turmoil in their leadership, was brought together by frogster18 and pulled in some lucrative seats in their coalition. Their policies are very much alike the ruling Liberal ones.

Finally, the Independents, who gained a lot of momentum and were the "shifter" in parliament for the past few months, completely dropped out of parliament. Their leader, Brutalfive, went out because he had not been campaigning nor has he shown much interest in Gere, along with his shift from the centre to the right with many unpopular policies among Gere citizens (help Fiveton, shrink Gere) made him lose over 80% of his base (10%+ of the electorate), getting booted out of parliament.
