HD LSD for sure.
I did have plenty of CRT TVs and monitors. They're very pixelated by modern standards.
There's also LCOS (liquid crystal on silicon) projector TVs which are heavy bastards, and certainly not a modern technology, but have great pictures. I don't know if you can still buy them since LCDs are cheap and excellent.
And there's plasma, which is comparable to LCD except can achieve better dark blacks and true whites if I remember correctly, or something like that.
Anyways, yeah, for old games I understand that you want a CRT because of the almost nonexistent delay on input-to-display you need for things like performing moves in Super Smash. I don't think this is true if you use a modern HD tv/monitor with a high refresh rate though. I think the problem has been solved, it's just that old games might not look that great on modern equipment.
