No but seriously a lot of the summer olympic events are less interesting. To each his own I guess.

Americans typically enjoy cars going around oval tracks hundreds of times, while Canadians enjoy bodychecking and firing pucks 100mph at people.

Alright stereotypes aside, I think a lot of people would really enjoy hockey if they watched a few whole games and understood the rules.

I have seen a few hockey games on Tv and even went to a few in real life. I still don't like it.

P.S. I hate nascar. You are also wrong on that account too  8)

Yeah, I have to agree with Kovos on both counts here. The only people that really watch and follow NASCAR are drunk rednecks in the south, and rich oil barons.

No, Rainy, I am not your "other". Second of all, you would be MY other because I am 5 years older than you. Second of all, I don't think my "other" is a 14 year old Colombian kid.  :P

Alright well I played baseball all my life and it was fun, but to watch its brutal. Same with golf, love playing it but it's pretty boring to watch, except the good ol' days when Tiger was in his prime. Basketball... well that's just brutal. Football is alright, Rugby seems faster paced and better. There's something wrong with banging heads until everyone's braindead or crippled at 40.
But hockey just is the perfect combination of skill, athleticism, speed, strategy and violence lol.
Hence, my love for it. I think if you laced up some skates and tried to play hockey (and failed miserably at first), you'd respect the little things most people overlook. Like the ability to control the puck and precisely move it through another (excellent) skaters legs while skating 30-40mph only to collect the puck again.

I do so enjoy a game of football (aka soccer). You have to be in prime shape to play it. It is quite a lot of fun.

I don't mind playing soccer. But I find hockey is just a faster paced version on ice, with less diving, and less ref decided games ;)

Well it depends on how well each team is. If they are evenly matched, then it is more of a ref decided game. However, something like Manchester U vs a lower team is pretty cut and dry.
